» About Our Dental School

          The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in 1979 as the first dental academic center in the Northeast of Thailand. The faculty is dedicated to training of competent dentists with research-oriented mind. The training is based on a wide range of contemporary patient care programs with holistic approach. The most important goal of the faculty is to produce high-quality dentists, for most of whom working in the Northeastern regional hospitals.



          The dental acadeThe dental curriculum is specifically designed to give the students the most practical settings. mic program allows the students the flexibility to pursue their goals while achieving high standards. Graduate students also have the opportunity to combine academic qualifications in the basic science and dental specialty to meet their needs.




          The KKU Dental Hospital offers comprehensive and first-rate oral health care to more than 80,000 patients a year including adults, children and disadvantaged patients. Both simple and complicated patient c ares are delivered. The faculty has expanded its service capacity by opening a semi-private Special Care Dental Clinic which operates every weekday evening and at weekends. One of our charity services, the Roy a l M obile Dental Clinic is arranged on a regular basis throughout the year in collaboration with community hospitals and charity organizations to provide dental treatments and oral health education to the needy people in the remote areas.



         The strategic location at the heart of Northeastern Thailand and nearby Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) enables it to pursue a vision “To be the leading institution in the ASEAN and GMS countries in oral health research, education and service”.
In 2010, the KKU Faculty of Dentistry is ranked number 2 in research among all dental schools across the nation according to the Thailand Research Fund, the leading research funding agency in Thailand.
